So today marks the end of the Mindef Internship Programme 2009 =)

I must say i was lucky to have been chosen to attend, i didnt regret going one bit. Asides from giving us a very useful eyeopener of the working of the SAF and the career opportunities, it also gave me a chance to find out more about my future options...

Let me start by detailing some of the stuff that happened.

Day 1:

Woke up at 5am to be safe and made my way to khatib mrt... reached newton mrt earlier than expected haha.

After a series of opening addresses and gettign our ultra cool mindef shirts, we went to Maju Camp for the army showcase.

Oh and i must add the food ROCKS! they provided us with buffet spreads for receptions... easily feeding us 6 times a day. amazing they must realli wanna rope people in haha =) anyway i deviced a way to enjoy it while not getting too full, just eat little bit each time then it will be ok =D

ok that aside, the army camp was fun! they planned a nice station system for us. First was the security systems, how they detect suspicious persons and vehicles, and we got to try the cool stuff too! Then was the medical part and the bombs diffusing haha had fun playing the robot! After yet another reception, we finally got to try the rifles. though they were blanks i had fun nonetheless =) after dinner we had an inspiring yet depressing talk by a high ranking officer, as he introduced some thoughtful points about singapore's future. and that they needed to pool the talents into the SAF thus this mindef intern prog... haha

Ended the day very tired.

Day 2:

Started the day goin taking a chinook helicopter to payalebar air base and wow! first time on a heli and it was great! the wind gushing at ur face and all =) could see the entire singapore skyline and stuff. kiawee said it showed him that there is something worth defending for and it motivated him wow. haha

Then the airforce museum, i went there in sec 2 for aviation science before haha. but this time we had a dialogue with the chief of airforce himself as well as other high ranking officers. he was from hwachong haha =)

then we went to visit the navy. RSS endurance woots and the LST... i must say the navy struck me deeply as it features overseas exchanges on a regular basis and that realli appeals ot me.. just travelling the world... but then again u have to go without seeing ur family at times luh. the navy also offers a very homely environment, officers and crew play and joke around like friends haha.

ended off with a VERY posh dinner and played abit of random pool with zech haha...

Day 3:

Final day. Wargame exercise ahha it was very technical stuff... but fun nonetheless. i was part of blue team infantry haha though i must say it was kinda short but oh well =)

ended off with a certificate presentation at officers mess haha =)

Concluded a very enriching 3 days!

anyway those were the proceedings... other stuff to talk about.

During the course of the program i was lucky to interact with many scholars and officers about anything. so i got tips about my future studies, career etc and of course in the SAF itself too. I must say it really gave me a wake up call about my future. I wanna study overseas so its time to think where i wanna go and stuff after that... quite nice talking to the guys. they were willing and so forthcoming to share their views =)

also just to point out, goodie bags ROCK we had like 4 or 5 goodie bags with SUPER items haha including 3 bags if im not wrong =) wow man! they are so nice

ok, more good news i got into both semiconductors and game theory H3 programmes... probably choose gametheory though... sorry yihui! haha same class as xiaohui!=)

1. SAF knows where to cater good food
2. SAF is super generous to its "potential scholars"
3. I love goodie bags
4. Black tea/coffee rocks
5. RJC gossip is funny haha

oh well.... guess i should sign off =)

Today was a fun day =)

Met lionel in the morning for breakfast. City Vibes HAHA

Thereafter went to collect my computer i sent for servicing... Had to backup my data manually sigh. Sorry lionel for making you wait haha!

Then it poured... omg the rain was so... humongous! it was like holy shit. With no taxi available for booking, lionel and i had to brave the rain to the bus stop, totally unsheltered gosh. got totally drenched. Lucky my laptop was safe =)

Made it JE MRT haha and drank COLD lime juice HAHA.

Next was to cineleisure for kbox =)

it was my first time there and i was looking forward to it! Karaoke is sossosososos fun =) yay! =)

Sang to my heart's content! sang sang and sang my throat hoarse le. all the nice chinese songs and one jap song! yay and some nice english songs tooooo

singing with friends is totally fun =)

Anyway, bukit timah was apparently BADLY hit by the flood, my condo carpark is screwed HAHA

OP was ok i guess but oh well dao its over le hope i get full marks for individual components.

Watched a couple of movies. 2012 and girl friend agent. nice movies! =)

Learnt L4D.

Artemis Fac outing.

Fun :) location was perfect, seabreeze so cooling yuxuan and i had minimal sweat =D

Screwed up my performance abit but on reviewing the video it didnt look that bad.

Oh well. my fingers are burnt

dead bored today

gonna finish the lost symbol =)

Long overdue post promos post!

gosh its finally over! the papers were super tough =O after chem paper i knew H3 chem was out of grasp le, so i think i shall aim physics H3 haha =)

enough about the exams. the post promos days were filled with slacking yay!

500 days of summer. got a free movie out of it due to 5mins of technical faults. yay. anyway the movie was very light and easy watching. just wad we need after promos =D

Sabbats:

Balloon sculpting with ian. haha it got kinda sick but shall not elaborate. balloon bursting rocks! i made a cute teddy =)

Juggling! FUN FUN FUN i love skill toys. fortunately i was able to grasp the sequence pretty quick ( i think) and managed to juggle 3 ball cascade le. skill toys ftw yay! our instructor was super pro la haha and nice too! he knew yoyo contacts too cause all these skill toys pple are linked some how... they gave us three balls as a souvenir ahah means we can continue training =)

watched paris 36 ytd. was a nice movie! jane has good tastes haha =) the girl was a pro singer luh!

oh well

as promos end, its time to start on PW. grrrr after not touching it for like weeks, we suddenly have to restart our engines sigh sigh sigh.

and also must train jogging/pullups everyday is im gonna pass my napfa next year T.T sigh sigh sigh

Sorry for my long absence but HAPPY CHILDRENS DAY =)

anyway, promos are like in a few days time and im barely done with any subjects gosh.

stayed back in sch everyday last week to mug or at least attempt to. gosh, never had to do this before. JC is siao =O

anywayyy

hope for the best for promos. was quite demoralised for chem when i attempted a few qns today. v rusty le SIGH =( i want my H3 =(

mugging today with yx and lionel was epic fail =(
